Andrew Kinsella, owner of Café at the End of the Universe, clearly has the recipe for success as he has just topped the table when it comes to burgers and he can now say he serves the best in Warrington – for the second year in a row! Vote for Warrington’s Best Gym 2024 Nominate your favourite for Warrington’s Best for Curry 2024 Ten delicious looking burgers made Warrington’s shortlist in the latest Best of 2024 category and Café at the End of the Universe has taken this year’s coveted crown making it a double victory in the awards. Andrew Kinsella opened Café at the End of the Universe in 2017, starting as a food truck doing events in Manchester. The business moved into Warrington’s temporary market in 2017 before moving to the new market in 2020.
The award-winning burger place is on Warrington Market Andrew, who is 44, grew up near Lymm and went to college in Warrington before going to university in Manchester. He said: “We make American inspired food with a pop culture twist. “Think burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries, all inspired by our favourite films or tv shows.
“When we opened the business, we had what we thought was a great idea that no one else was doing. “I’d been a kitchen manager, working in pubs for more than 20 years, but I had no background at all in business. “Food was the thing I knew best so if I was going to start my own business, it was always going to be food related.
“There are lots of places doing great burgers, especially in Warrington. “I just think we put a lot of love and effort into what we do. “When you do as many burgers a week as we now do, you ‘ get it right one hundred per cent of the time, but we are very good at what we do.
” Burgers are inspired by popular culture What do customers think of the burgers at Café at the End of the Universe? Why did they want them to win our latest award? One nomination said: “Their burgers are the absolute best!” Another said it serves the best burgers “by a country mile”. For Andrew, consistency is key and he and the team care about their customers getting a good experience. Andrew said: “Kevin Bacon is our best seller.
“It’s slow cooked pulled pork, bacon jam, bacon frazzles and baconnaise on top of a double bacon cheese burger – it’s a classic. “Some of the more unusual things we do are a burger topped with chorizo, fries, garlic butter and ketchup – it’s amazing!” A Kavin Bacon burger (Image Nic Taylor) When Andrew heard Café at the End of the Universe had made the shortlist for Warrington’s Best for Burgers 2024, after winning last year’s title, he was pleased and grateful to be recognised again. Andrew said: “I was ecstatic when I heard we’d won.
“We have a great following and I always hoped we’d win again, but we didn't take it for granted. “Without our fantastic customers we wouldn't have a business. “We’re very grateful for their support and all their votes.
“They have recently helped us crowdfund our new gastropub, which also does a mean burger!”.
