Monday, January 20, 2025 Waynesboro, the idyllic city nestled at the crossroads of the Appalachian Trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway, is gearing up to host the much-anticipated Hiker Fest 2025 . Scheduled for June 6-7, the event is a vibrant celebration of the hiking community, welcoming outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers to a weekend of connection, culture, and recreation. Now in its third year, Hiker Fest has become a cornerstone of Waynesboro’s summer calendar.

This year’s festival promises an expanded lineup of activities, including live music, outdoor-focused vendors, rejuvenating yoga sessions, and interactive experiences. Hikers can enjoy a complimentary breakfast, while convenient camping facilities and shuttle services ensure they’re well cared for during their visit. Boosting Tourism and Local Pride The event received a significant boost with a $5,000 grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC), aimed at increasing visibility, drawing more visitors, and boosting overnight stays in Waynesboro.



Complementing this, Destination Downtown Waynesboro has committed $6,096 in matching funds, emphasizing the city’s dedication to supporting local businesses and fostering economic growth through tourism. Hiker Fest serves as a bridge between Waynesboro’s thriving local culture and its growing reputation as an outdoor destination. By showcasing its unique offerings, the city not only celebrates the hiking community but also creates opportunities for local artisan.
