Data provided by the Ottawa Police Service shows the city has seen 20 homicides this year in 15 incidents so far this year. Throughout 2023, there were 16 homicides in 15 incidents. The March 6 mass killing of a Barrhaven family, including four children, accounts for one of the deadliest homicide events in the city’s history.
