The highly-anticipated sequel to Ridley Scott's 2000 blockbuster, which is set for theatrical release in Ireland on November 15, stars Paul Mescal as Lucius, the son of his mother Lucilla. In the second official trailer, a huge twist is revealed as Lucius learns that he is the son of Maximus, played by Russell Crowe in the original "Gladiator", and not Lucius Verus, as he had been told since birth. In the trailer, Lucilla, played by Connie Nielson who will reprise her role 24 years after she gave life to the character, is seen telling him the news before he heads out to battle.
