Just in time for Christmas, Emma Bunton has shared her new solo rendition of Spice Girls single “2 Become 1,” which was originally released during the holiday season in 1996. “Earlier this year, I had the amazing opportunity to record one of my favourite Spice Girls singles, 2 Become 1, with the incredible Budapest Scoring Orchestra!” Bunton announced on social media over the weekend. “Hearing the song brought to life by such a talented orchestra gave me goosebumps — it was such a magical experience.

We just had to capture the session on film.” In the video, which was filmed when she and the orchestra recorded the song, Bunton sings the ballad — which originally appeared on the group’s debut album, Spice — surrounded by the large string section. The orchestral arrangement buoys her performance, with Bunton’s vocals at the fore.



On Christmas day in the U.K., Bunton’s performance during Strictly Come Dancing ’s Christmas special is set to air on BBC One.

In March, to mark the 30th anniversary of the very first Spice Girls auditions, the group shared archival footage from the audition process. The following month, they reunited — well, not for the concert or new music that fans have been dreaming about, but for Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party, where they sang “Stop” from their 1997 sophomore album, Spiceworld . The group had a reunion tour in 2019, but Beckham did not join the outing.
