CJI interacts with AI lawyer NEW DELHI: Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud on Thursday interacted with an AI lawyer at the inauguration of the National Judicial Museum and Archive (NJMA). During the event, the Chief Justice asked the AI whether the death penalty is constitutional in India. The AI promptly responded, "Yes, the death penalty is constitutional in India.
It is reserved for the rarest of rare cases as determined by the Supreme Court where the crime is exceptionally heinous and warrants such a punishment."
