MANILA, Philippines – Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo talked about being a “trailblazer” in her introduction video for the Miss Cosmo 2024 competition. In the one-and-a-half minute clip released on Tuesday, September 16, the beauty queen from Quezon province disclosed the reason why she chose to compete in the inaugural edition of the Miss Cosmo 2024 pageant. “ Not a lot of people know, but I had to opportunity to represent the Philippines in another pageant,” she said.
The 27-year-old delegate explained that it’s because she wanted to be a “trailblazer.” “I want to set the tone of what it takes to be a Miss Cosmo. I want to be an integral part of a pioneering organization that will change the history of pageantry forever,” she added.
Ahtisa, who previously finished as 1st runner-up in the Miss International 2018 competition, secured a 2nd runner-up placement in the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 pageant. Organizers then later proclaimed her as the Philippines’ representative to the Miss Cosmo pageant. In her introduction video, Ahtisa also recalled how she joined her first beauty pageant at just 10 years old and already competed in 14 more pageants after that.
“I made pageantry my vessel for greater things and greater opportunities. Now, I have lived a lot of my dreams and I’m continuing to design my life the way I want to live it,” she said. Prior to the release of the introduction videos, Ahtisa also won the “First Station” of the Miss Cosmo’s People’s Choice Award.
