Klay Thompson, who left the Warriors after 13 iconic years, will return to the Bay Area when his new team, the Mavericks, come to the Chase Center on Nov. 12. The Warriors’ full regular season schedule has yet to be announced, but the team released its four NBA Cup group play games — starting with Thompson’s Mavericks.

The Warriors-Mavericks game will tip off at 7 p.m. on Nov.



12 at Chase Center and be broadcast on TNT. Thompson joined Dallas after Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals last year, where they lost to the Celtics. Thompson returning to San Francisco will certainly make for a sentimental moment.

Thompson rarely hid his emotions and helped the Warriors win four NBA championships. As one of the greatest 3-point shooters ever, he penned several epic postseason performances while becoming an iconic off-court figure by embracing the region and expressing himself. Last year was the inaugural NBA Cup — colloquially known as the In-Season Tournament.

Teams play four group play games on their schedule that determine the eight-team knockout round and then the semifinals and finals in Las Vegas. Beyond the Mavericks game, the Warriors’ group play schedule consists of hosting the Memphis Grizzlies on Nov. 15 and visiting the New Orleans Pelicans a week later and then traveling to Denver to play the Nuggets on Dec.
