SEDRO-WOOLLEY — The sockeye salmon fishery on the Skagit River from the Highway 536 bridge in Mount Vernon to the Dalles Bridge in Concrete will be extended, running July 16 to July 24. A limit of four sockeye salmon with a minimum size of 12 inches can be retained daily and selective gear rules for salmon are not in effect. All other salmon species must be released and night closures are in effect.

Current data indicates minimal incidental Chinook encounters and available harvestable sockeye in the area are sufficient to provide an extension of the in-river sockeye season. Anglers should note the possibility of in-season closures as well as other management actions..
