Wednesday, November 20, 2024 The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin has embarked on an exciting new chapter with the groundbreaking of its latest expansion, which will add 120,000 square feet of event space to its existing meeting and convention facilities. This milestone event brought together key executives from Tishman Realty and MetLife, the hotel’s owners, as well as representatives from Marriott International and Walt Disney World. This marks the first significant expansion of the Dolphin’s meeting space since 2003.

The new addition—a two-story annex—draws inspiration from the property’s iconic design by Michael Graves. Emphasizing natural light and contemporary aesthetics, the space will feature water-inspired elements complemented by warm wooden finishes, providing a refreshing yet cohesive extension to the existing architecture. Once completed, the Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve will boast a combined total of 469,000 square feet of meeting space, cementing its status as one of the largest convention venues on the East Coast.

Alongside its 2,619 guest rooms, the property is set to deliver an unparalleled destination for large-scale events. The expansion is part of a broader $275 million investment, which also includes upgrades to existing meeting spaces and a complete renovation of guest rooms at the Swan. The new convention facilities are slated for completion in 2026.

Nestled within Walt Disney World Resort, the Swan and Dolphin is a leader in the convent.
