Waitrose is set to start a new recycling trial in some UK stores from next week. Waitrose, which is rivalled by the likes of Tesco , Sainsbury's , Morrisons , Asda and more, has unveiled a cork recycling scheme with ambitions to unlock potential of circular material. Natural cork collection will be trialled in seven Waitrose stores from next Monday (October 7).
Waitrose will trial cork recycling in seven stores across the UK, becoming the first major UK supermarket to do so, the posh and upmarket retailer says. Individual collection points will be set up in Waitrose Salisbury, followed by Saltash, Lymington, Bath, Godalming, Truro and Maidenhead once it relaunches in November. Customers will be encouraged to deposit their used natural corks for recycling via Amorim, the largest cork processing group in the world.

Currently this valuable material does not have its own waste stream which means it ends up in landfill.
