The first aired on March 23, 1987, and the soap opera has since continued to give its fans shocking storyline after shocking storyline. There have been more than 8,500 episodes over its 35 years on the air, and with their , they have kept fans tuned in and loyal to the show for decades. The Bold and the Beautiful is set in Los Angeles and follows the lives of the Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families.

Out of the four remaining daytime soaps, The Bold and the Beautiful is still the youngest. General Hospital has been on the air since 1963, Days of Our Lives since 1965, and The Young and the Restless has been on since 1973. The Bold and the Beautiful was renewed earlier this year.

The soap was picked up for another year, guaranteeing it’ll run into 2025. So here is a look back at some of the most bizarre, wild, and straight-up weirdest moments in its 35-year run. When Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) was married to Eric Forrester, she used to call him “honey bear,” which rubbed his ex-wife Stephanie (Susan Flannery) the wrong way.

That led Stephanie’s sister Pam (Alley Mills) to attempt to get rid of by using the nickname for her husband against her. Pam followed her to a cabin, tied her to a chair, covered her in honey, and practically fed her to a grizzly bear. As cruel and gruesome as the attempt was, Pam was unsuccessful.

The soap's love triangle between Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss/Thorsten Kaye), Taylor (Hunter Tylo/Krista Allen), and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) gave Bold fans one of the most outlandish moments in the soap's history. Ridge married both women on multiple occasions, but the moment happened during one of the times he was ready to marry Taylor. But Brooke rushed to the wedding by horse to try to object, but she arrived at the last second, and the officiant declared Ridge and Taylor “man and horse” instead of "man and wife.

" A paternity scandal brought in another bizarre storyline for fans to enjoy. Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz) was questioning whether the baby she was expecting was fathered by Usher Raymond (Usher Raymond) or Rick Forrester (Jacob Young). Rick ended up being the father, but sadly the baby died at birth.

Amber then took the baby her cousin Becky (Marissa Tait) was putting up for adoption and passed him off as her own. This baby, known as Little Eric, was then parented by numerous people on the show but has since disappeared from the show altogether. In the early 2000s, Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) shoots both Brooke and Taylo, killing Taylor.

Ridge started to see visions of Taylor years later, causing him to dig up her grave and find a mannequin, discovering that she was still alive. The mannequin found in Taylor's grave made a comeback years later. When the soap began filming during COVID, the restrictions prohibited the actors from being within six feet of each other.

Mannequins were used as props for the actors to film love scenes. But then they took it a step further and made the mannequin an actual on-screen character. Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) suffered head trauma and began to hallucinate that a mannequin that looked like Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) was talking to him.
