Pune: Restaurants, business establishments and petrol pumps across the city have announced special offers and discounts to encourage people to step out and vote on Nov 20. Citizens can flash the election ink mark on their fingers to avail the offers. Ganesh Shetty, president, Pune Restaurants and Hoteliers Association, said, "Citizens who have exercised their franchise can get 10% discount at any of our 550-member restaurants across the city on election day.

" Malls such as Phoenix Marketcity in Vimannagar and Phoenix Mall of Millennium in Wakad have announced 25% discount at in-house eateries such as Ishaara, Dobaraa, Allora, Eight, Poult, Fyole, Merchant & Me, Cafe Peter, Coffee & More, and Manbhavan Thali between Nov 20 and 23. Establishments frequented by youngsters, too, have joined the initiative to encourage youths to vote. "We see many youngsters refraining from voting because of apathy or a clash of ideologies.



However, it is this demographic that needs to exercise their right the most. To encourage them to vote, we have announced a 15% off on our food items from Nov 20-22," said Piyush Kulakrni, owner of Da'nonna Pizzeria. "On the election day, people coming to any of our 900 petrol stations, which are members of our association, would get a flat discount of Rs 50 on purchase of one litre of petrol or diesel.
