Sunday, August 4, 2024 Visit Orlando and New Orleans & Company, representing two of the nation’s premier culinary hotspots, joined forces with Walt Disney World Resort and Southwest Airlines to offer 23 aspiring female chefs an unforgettable experience. Drawing inspiration from Princess Tiana and the new Magic Kingdom Park attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, this collaboration aimed to motivate future hospitality professionals and promote travel between these iconic destinations. In July, participants from New Orleans embarked on a remarkable four-day journey designed to fuel their culinary aspirations.

This trip provided them with complimentary flights, accommodations, and theme park tickets, along with educational opportunities led by Disney chefs and professionals. Highlights included a behind-the-scenes experience at Victoria & Albert’s, located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, which recently earned a one-star MICHELIN rating as one of Orlando’s top fine-dining establishments. This initiative not only celebrated the legacy of Princess Tiana as a beloved chef and restaurateur but also encouraged these young women to pursue their culinary dreams with renewed passion and determination.

“I am incredibly proud of how our organizations came together to promote new reasons to travel between Orlando and New Orleans in a meaningful way, inspiring and uplifting future hospitality professionals who could one day impact our industry,” said Casandra Matej, Pr.
