Violet Victoria Alasky, 96, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at her residence. She was born in Idamay, March 7, 1928, a daughter of the late John Sherry, Sr. and the late Rose Nicholas Sherry.

On October 31, 1928, she married Pete Alasky, Jr. who preceded her in death on August 20, 2020. Surviving are her children: Diane Aloi and her husband Donnie, Pete J.



Alasky, III and his wife Susan, and Beth Ann Alasky, all of Farmington; grandchildren: Nick Aloi and his wife Teresa, Julius Aloi and his wife Amber, Peter J. Alasky, IV and his wife Shavon, Angela Alasky Ice and her husband Rich; great grandchildren: Logan Aloi, Franchesca Aloi, Andrew Aloi, Jared Aloi, Julian Aloi, Sophia Burnside, Luke Burnside, Peter J. Alasky, V, and Alexandria Alasky; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Violet was also preceded in death by her siblings: John Sherry and his wife Nancy, and Walter Sherry and his wife Shirley; her bothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Joann Alasky, Louise and Julius Shappek, Harry and Margaret Alasky; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pete and Julia Alasky. Violet was formerly employed at the Idamay Company Store, Owens-Illinois, and along with her husband, helped build and operate Alasky's Furniture and Appliance in Farmington. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and was a faithful member of the St.

Peter Catholic Church in Farmington and the St. Peter's Women's Society. She enjoyed hummingbirds and taking care of her flower garden.

She was a caretaker to many in the family over the years. She was a very beloved mother with a beautiful smile. She will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. John Manchin; Mandy Morris; her caretakers: Georgia Aloi, Stormy Kellar, and Haleigh Jones; the staff of Amedisys Hospice; and all the family and friends that helped with her care. The family will receive friends at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, from 2-8pm, Sunday.

The Rosary will be recited at 7pm, Sunday in the funeral home chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am, Monday, September 23, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Farmington, with Rev.

Father Binu Emmanuel as celebrant. Interment will be in the I.O.

O.F. Cemetery in Farmington.
