The Viking Charities Classic Car Show held in downtown Solvang in mid-October welcomed an estimated 2,500 attendees, featured over 200 registered vehicles and helped raise approximatively $80,000 to benefit individuals and health care organizations in Santa Barbara County with medically-related needs. "Once again the Vikings of Solvang put on an extraordinary weekend of automotive-based activities starting with the fabulous Friday night Gala Dinner at Mendenhall's Motor Museum and ending with a Saturday, sun-drenched day of car, truck and motorcycle viewing in beautiful downtown Solvang," said Dr. Roger Lane, chair, Viking Charities Classic Car Show.
The event, which concluded with an awards ceremony presenting over 50 trophies to car show participants, is slated to return next fall, with a date to be announced. For the holidays, the Vikings Charities will hold its 44th annual Kids' Christmas Party at the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott Hotel in Buellton. The by-invite -only event hosts hundreds of special needs students and their teachers from northern Santa Barbara County for lunch, entertainment, gifts and a special visit from Santa and Mrs.
Claus. To learn more about the mission of the Vikings of Solvang, visit www.vikingsofsolvang.
