Thursday, November 14, 2024 In late November, Long An Province in southern Vietnam is gearing up to welcome around one million visitors for its second annual Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week. The event promises a diverse range of activities, with a notable participation from South Korea. During a press conference on Tuesday, the provincial administration revealed that the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Week will take place from November 28 to December 4.
Nguyen Thanh Thanh, the director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, shared that this year’s week-long festivities will include 11 major events. Highlights will feature an opening ceremony, a conference promoting tourism and the One Commune One Product initiative, with participation from Ho Chi Minh City and 13 Mekong Delta provinces. The program will also showcase a Long An – South Korea trade and culinary fair, cultural exchange zones, sports competitions, and a music festival.
Hoang Dinh Can, head of the provincial Commission for Propaganda and Education, emphasized that the second edition of the event features a wider scope, with additional sports competitions and key collaborations with South Korea. These partnerships aim to showcase Long An’s cultural heritage while also highlighting the rich traditions of Korean regions.
