The surge in visitors highlights the country’s growing appeal as a top travel destination in Southeast Asia, with the potential for further growth as the peak travel season approaches in the final quarter of the year.
In September 2024 alone, Vietnam recorded nearly 1.3 million international visitors , with air arrivals accounting for the majority of tourists. This milestone reinforces Vietnam’s position as a key player in the global tourism market , driven by strong demand from Asia , particularly countries like South Korea , China , and Japan .
As the country recovers from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters, the tourism industry is setting ambitious goals, targeting between 17-18 million foreign arrivals by the end of 2024.
