Thursday, January 2, 2025 Vietnam welcomed 2025 with vibrant celebrations, greeting thousands of foreign tourists with warm hospitality, cultural performances, and ambitious tourism goals. Localities across Vietnam celebrated New Year’s Day 2025 with vibrant ceremonies, warmly welcoming visitors and setting ambitious goals for a prosperous year ahead. In the bustling central city of Da Nang, nearly 3,000 visitors were greeted on January 1, including close to 2,000 travelers from Europe and America aboard the Noordam cruise ship.

The municipal Department of Tourism extended a heartfelt welcome by presenting them with flowers, souvenirs, and vouchers. Traditional lion dance performances and photo opportunities added to the festive atmosphere. On New Year’s Day, Da Nang International Airport handled 125 flights, 57 of which were international, contributing to a busy period from December 28, 2024, to January 1, 2025, during which over 600 flights were recorded—a 15.



6% year-on-year increase. Deputy Director of the Da Nang Tourism Department, Tan Van Vuong, shared that the city aims to attract more than 11.9 million visitors in 2025, a 10% increase from 2024.

This includes over 4.8 million international tourists, with revenue from hospitality and travel services projected to surpass VND36 trillion (approximately $1.41 billion), reflecting a 16% growth.
