Tuesday, January 28, 2025 Visa has partnered with fintech firm DealMe to introduce cross-border card instalment payment services tailored for Vietnamese cardholders. This initiative addresses the rising need for flexible payment solutions among both local and international consumers. With this collaboration, Vietnamese Visa credit cardholders will gain access to real-time instalment payment options at merchants in South Korea, enhancing convenience for travelers.
According to Visa’s research, 75% of surveyed Vietnamese consumers plan to travel for leisure in 2025, with South Korea ranking as a preferred destination for 18% of participants. Vietnamese Visa credit cardholders can now enjoy the convenience of instalment payment options at South Korean duty-free shops, department stores, and medical facilities through a newly launched solution. This collaboration between Visa and DealMe also extends instalment services to international Visa cardholders at participating South Korean merchants.
Eligible users can choose their preferred instalment period during transactions, offering a seamless and customizable payment experience. Previously unavailable for cross-border payments, this service aims to enhance payment flexibility for global shoppers. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Visa’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in November 2024, DealMe will leverage Visa’s network to deliver this solution.
The initial rollout focuses on South Korea, with future expansion.
