Wednesday, August 14, 2024 Vietnam Airlines gears up for National Day, offering a remarkable 500,000 seats to meet soaring travel demand during the holiday rush from August 30 to September 4. Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier, has announced an increase in flights to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the upcoming National Day holidays, which span from August 30 to September 4. According to the airline, around 500,000 seats will be available during this period, translating to nearly 2,500 flights.

The additional flights will primarily serve domestic routes linking Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Da Lat, Cam Ranh, Hue, and Phu Quoc. On these domestic routes, approximately 330,000 seats will be offered, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period last year. Internationally, Vietnam Airlines will add more flights on routes between Vietnam and countries such as India, China, Thailand, and Australia.

This will bring the total number of seats on these routes to over 150,000, or more than 650 flights, reflecting a modest increase from the previous year. The airline also noted that bookings for key domestic tourist routes have already reached nearly 50%, with expectations for continued growth. International routes to destinations like India, China, Thailand, and Australia are also seeing strong demand, with occupancy rates ranging from 50% to 70%.

Vietnam Airlines’ efforts to meet travel demand during the National Day holiday are particularly noteworthy given the global aviation industry’s challenges, including aircraft shortages due to engine inspections. Recently, the airline has added an Airbus A320neo and a Boeing 787-10 to its fleet to better serve the increased demand during the peak summer season. To ensure a smooth travel experience, Vietnam Airlines advises passengers to book their tickets early for more flight options and better prices.

Passengers are also encouraged to complete their check-in process in advance through various channels, including phone, website, mobile app, or airport kiosks, to save time..
