It's been 12 years that Kahaani emerged a sleeper hit. But inside stories about the Vidya Balan starrer continue to treat us about the Sujoy Ghosh thriller. The movie was extensively shot through the bylanes of Kolkata showcasing its old charm during the festival of Durga Puja.

Subbulakshmi, Adorns Musician’s Iconic Look- Watch Vidya changed outfits in car During a chat with casting director Mukesh Chhabra for Mashable India, director Sujoy Ghosh spoke on how he couldn't afford a vanity van for Vidya due to a "tight budget", but the actor had no trouble adjusting to the available resources despite playing a pregnant women in the movie. Infact, she even managed to change her outfits in the car parked on the roadside, covered with a black cloth. "We didn’t have any budget to even afford a vanity van.
We didn’t have the luxury of pausing the shoot because we were on a tight budget. So, every time she had to change, we used to cover her Innova with a black cloth in the middle of the road, and she used to change inside and come out for shoot," Ghosh shared. The director added that despite him still struggling to strike gold at the box office back then, Vidya agreed to sign Kahaani, and her work committment was no less than that of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, with whom Ghosh has worked in Badla where Bachchan.
