Stree 2 has brought along a tsunami at the box office! The film first recorded one of the biggest openings of the year and then charged into the 200 crore club in a matter of four days! After earning Rs 8.5 crore in previews, Stree 2 opened with Rs 51.8 crore on Thursday, on the occasion of Independence Day.
The film saw a dip on Friday and earned Rs 31.4 crore, however it picked up massive pace over the weekend. Stree 2 pocketed Rs 43.
85 crore on Saturday and Rs 55.9 crore on Sunday, taking the domestic total to Rs 191.45 crore.
At the worldwide box office, Stree 2 has earned Rs 273 crore worldwide, reports Sacnilk. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, and stars Shraddha Kapoor , Rajkummar Rao , Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana in lead roles. Fans were also in for a treat with Akshay Kumar's special cameo in the movie.
Hailing the movie, Kangana Ranaut had recently penned, "Movie Stree has shattered all records, congratulations to the entire team, but the real hero of a film is the director. In India, we don't give enough credit or appreciation to directors that's why not many youngsters want to be writers/directors. Everyone who wants a career in films meets me for guidance and wants to be either an actor or a superstar.
