Vicky Kaushal, who has delivered some remarkable performances over the years, still considers his portrayal of Sam Manekshaw as his most challenging role to date. However, playing India’s first Field Marshal came with its own set of unique pressures—especially when you’re also dancing to a peppy number like “Tauba Tauba” in your next film! A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Vicky shared a hilarious incident involving the late Army chief’s daughter, Maya Manekshaw. The actor revealed that after she watched the lively song from his latest film Bad Newz, she couldn’t help but send him a message.

"There’s something about playing an army officer, but playing an army officer who is considered a legend? That’s a whole new level of responsibility," Vicky explained. "I grew up hearing stories about Sam Manekshaw from my parents, especially about the 1971 India-Pakistan war. They’d talk about studying in dark rooms and hiding in storerooms, waiting for Sam sir’s instructions on the radio.

So, getting to play him on screen was a nerve-wracking but incredibly fulfilling experience." "The other day, Maya, one of Sam Manekshaw’s daughters, messaged me after seeing ‘Tauba Tauba’.

She was like, ‘Who is this guy?’ and I was like, ‘What do you mean?’ She replied, ‘Five months ago you made me believe you’re my father; you can’t be doing this now.’ I mean, it’s my job,” he said, laughing, “but it felt like the biggest compliment for me.” Even though Sam Bahadur didn’t achieve the blockbuster status it deserved, particularly with the fierce competition from Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, the film resonated with audiences.

Vicky’s portrayal of the legendary Field Marshal was widely praised, further solidifying his reputation as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors..
