Friday, August 23, 2024 This fall, Verdura Resort, nestled along Sicily’s picturesque coastline, becomes a haven for tennis enthusiasts with a line-up of exclusive tennis clinics featuring former tennis star Tomas Berdych. Verdura’s superb location, complete with six clay courts near the sea, provides an ideal setting for a variety of sports activities including tennis, golf, fencing, football, and yoga. From September 17-23, Tomas Berdych, who once reached the world number four ranking and is a Davis Cup victor, will offer his deep insights into tennis to players at all skill levels.
Berdych’s illustrious career includes appearances in the semi-finals across all four Grand Slams and 13 ATP singles titles, spanning from 2002 to 2017. This clinic kicks off a season packed with tennis events at the resort. Adding to the expertise, former world number one doubles player from the Netherlands, Paul Haarhuis, will conduct an elite clinic from September 26 to October 4.
Additionally, Berdych’s fellow countryman Karel Novacek will lead his second annual clinic at Verdura from October 25 to November 3. Participants have the option to engage in a personal 30-minute session with Berdych or extend their training with a customized half-hour lesson from the former Czech Republic number one, followed by a 30-minute session with one of Verdura’s professional instructors. There’s also an opportunity for a 45-minute group session that accommodates four players across two courts, featuring guidance from Berdych and a Sunball coach.
Moreover, throughout 2024, tennis aficionados can partake in a special three-day coaching package offered by the renowned Sunball Tennis Academy at Verdura. This package includes three coaching sessions, equipment rentals, and unlimited court access, priced at €280 for solo participants and €100 per person for groups..
