Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has shared an amusing anecdote about how she had to pursue Jigra director Vasan Bala for the second half of the film’s script. In a recent interview with Tried & Refused Productions, both Alia and Vasan opened up about the unconventional way the script first made its way to the actress. Vasan Bala recalled how a rough draft of the film’s concept ended up in Alia’s inbox sooner than he intended.
"I had sent one very kaccha pakka (roughly drafted) email to Karan Johar, more of a stream of consciousness, where I just jotted down ideas. A few hours later, Karan called me and said, ‘I've already sent it to Alia.’ I was really not happy with it.
I was like, ‘Why? I would have at least done a spell check, fixed the grammar, maybe written a better hero entry,’" Vasan shared, laughing at the situation. He admitted that he wasn’t thrilled about Alia reading the draft in such an unfinished state, but Karan reassured him, saying, "This is how it works." During the interview, she shared her reaction: “I wasn't expecting it to be this exciting. Vasan hadn’t revealed much during our initial meetings, so when I got the first half, I was like, ‘Wow, this is something.’ But I knew I needed to read the second half to feel complete.
” Eager to see how the story unfolded, Alia found herself chasing Vasan for the remain.
