After weeks of speculation and one divisive preview article, Valve has finally unveiled the Steam page for Deadlock, its upcoming third-person shooter MOBA mashup. Unfortunately, access to the game is still “limited to friend invite” via the game’s playtesters, so not everyone can try it out while it’s still in its pre-release phase. And, since it’s still in its early days, the dev team noted that it has “lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay,” which could change once the full game drops.

In addition, a Discord post from one of the game’s developers (via X/Twitter user gabefollower ) said, “We are lifting the rules for public conversation about Deadlock to allow for things like streaming, community websites, and discussions.” “Nothing else is changing with our state of development. We are remaining invite-only and continue to be in an early development stage with lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay,” they reiterated.

Valve hasn’t revealed when it plans to launch the game, as its Steam page says the Deadlock release date is “to be announced.” However, you can start adding it to your wishlist now to be notified of any future developments. Now that people can start talking about the game freely, though (without the need for a questionable NDA ), we expect official news on the game to begin popping up soon.

And, if you don’t have an invite yet and want to get a closer look at its gameplay, YouTube videos and Twitch VoDs should start dominating social media and will likely appear over the next few days.
