Tuesday, August 6, 2024 A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Jamshid Abdusalomov, recently held discussions with Vera Shcherbina, First Vice-Governor of Primorsky Krai and Chairperson of the Government. The talks centered on fostering and enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation in the tourism sector. Key topics included increasing the flow of tourists, sharing expertise in developing tourism infrastructure, opening new tourism routes, exchanging personnel, improving transportation links between regions, and promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Russia’s Far East.

Vera Shcherbina highlighted Uzbekistan’s appeal as a travel destination for residents of Primorsky Krai. “In Primorsky Krai, not many people are yet aware of Uzbekistan’s tourist attractions. We will do our best to promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in the region and to increase the mutual flow of tourists.

” Jamshid Abdusalomov emphasized the initiatives being taken to enhance the tourism infrastructure in Uzbekistan. These include upgrading facilities, improving tourist services, and creating new travel experiences that cater to both domestic and international visitors. Additionally, efforts are being made to increase the number of flights between Uzbekistan and Russia to facilitate easier travel.

The roadshow also featured a presentation on Uzbek cultural and gastronomic tourism. Attendees were treated to tastings of traditional Uzbek cuisine and a concert program featuring a national music ensemble. This cultural exchange aims to highlight the rich heritage and culinary delights of Uzbekistan, enticing more tourists to explore the country.

The event provided a platform for B2B (Business to Business) and B2G (Business to Government) meetings, allowing representatives from the tourism sectors of Uzbekistan and Russia to exchange experiences and establish new business contacts. Several bilateral agreements were signed, focusing on collaborative efforts to boost tourism and improve infrastructure. As part of the “Year of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Russia,” this initiative is crucial for promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Russia’s Far East.

The goal is to create awareness and interest among Russian tourists, ultimately increasing the number of visitors to Uzbekistan. The discussions between Uzbekistan and Primorsky Krai’s officials mark a significant step towards strengthening tourism ties and enhancing mutual cooperation. With ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, increase flight connections, and promote cultural exchange, Uzbekistan is well-positioned to attract more tourists from Russia’s Far East.
