Wednesday, February 5, 2025 Uzbekistan Airways recently honored the crew of a Boeing 787 following an extraordinary mid-air birth on a Tashkent – New York flight on January 28. Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board, met with the airline’s team to commend their professionalism and swift response in ensuring a safe delivery at cruising altitude. The meeting took place at Uzbekistan Airways’ headquarters, where Khudaykulov personally extended his appreciation to the crew.
He acknowledged their composure, expertise, and teamwork in assisting the passenger during the unexpected childbirth. Among those present on the flight were highly skilled flight attendants, pilots, and medical professionals—including an obstetrician and a surgeon—who played a crucial role in creating a safe environment for both the mother and newborn. As a token of gratitude, the Chairman presented certificates of honor and floral tributes to the crew members.
Recognized for their commendable efforts were pilot-instructor Ruslan Almamedov, commander Rustamdjan Buribayev, co-pilots Botir Niyazov and Sardor Shadjaliyev, along with pursers Gulnoza Giyasova and Elnora Abduganiyeva.
