A review posted by Variety's Shaheem Reid said that the performer did an effective job of showcasing the various 'eras of his career' by using 'an elaborate cube comprised of several huge LED screens that could show one huge image or video, or several smaller ones, on different screens.' The cube also functioned 'as a gigantic set-piece,' according to the piece, including a penthouse and room 'that alternately evoked a room in a house, a strip club or a dance performance area.' Reid said that Usher 'did not seem like a man with a neck injury' but rather 'someone in top physical condition' as he made his way through the physically-demanding, high-energy show.
