THE dog days of summer might be coming to an end, but pups can still get in on some fun at a US waterpark. Dogs are invited to dip their paws into the water at the park's annual Pooch Pool Party - their humans can get in for free, but they better not even think about joining their furry friends for a swim . On the last day of the summer season, Texas' Carrollton’s Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex will host its annual Carrollton Pooch Pool Party for dogs, according to ABC affiliate WFAA .
The pups-only pool party, which will take place on September 7, has continued to be a popular event since it started over ten years ago. “We have people who want to bring their animals everywhere,” said Susan Prosoco, marketing manager for the city of Carrollton. She added that watching the pups play makes everyone feel more joyous.
Read more in dog pool party Man's best friend will be able to make other four-legged friends during the event meant just for them. They will even have the opportunity to frolic while free from their pet parents. That's because owners won't be allowed to dive in while their dogs take over the pool.
The pooch pool party at the aquatic complex costs $7 per dog, while their humans can get in at no charge. Most read in Travel All dogs must have leashes and proof of updated vaccination information. The party will take place from 10 am to 3 pm.
And this isn't the only place where your pet can splash around before summer officially ends. There are over a dozen similar doggie pool parties taking place across the North Texas region throughout September. Some of these dog-friendly destinations include the Hawaiian Waters in The Colony and NRH2O in North Richland Hills.
The Dog Days of Denton at Quakertown Park will be free, while Paws in the Pool at Frisco Water Park, offers timed pool hours. The first event is intended for small to medium-sized dogs weighing under 45 pounds, as well as senior canines, while larger pooches will get their chance to swim during the afternoon session. Canines of all sizes will be begging their parents to help them beat the heat by taking them to the complex which features a zero-depth entry pool and other play areas that are usually open to humans.
It is also home to two platform levels with a bridge, water cannons, bubblers, spray bars, water slides, a 200-foot lazy river, and a 600-gallon dump bucket. A shaded toddler splash pool, zero-depth entry activity pool, 25-meter lap pool with eight lanes, and two 22-foot-tall water slides are all part of their recently remodeled Main Pool Section. The park also offers plenty of picnic tables, lounge chairs, deck space, a remodeled boathouse, and a concession stand.
