A POPULAR US theme park has plans to ensure that its Halloween-themed events are the scariest things taking place on its grounds. A new rule is aimed at keeping youngsters safe at the park that always wears the crown for having the most rollercoasters in the nation. In advance of its Halloween programming, Fright Fest Extreme , Six Flags Magic Mountain will be implementing a chaperone policy, according to CW flagship station KTLA 5 Los Angeles .

The policy outlines that all guests 15 years old or younger who want to enter the park during the event must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old starting from 4 pm to close. To ensure a seamless entry, you will want to make sure everyone has the necessary documents required. Each chaperone must be able to provide a valid government-issued photo identification including date of birth listed at the ticket entry.

The policy applies to both one-day visitors and season pass holders. Most read in Travel The new rule is designed to keep everyone safe following an uptick of what Six Flags deems to be "unruly and inappropriate behavior” in the theme park and entertainment industry as a whole. They are also not the first ones to take such measures during popular events.

Knott’s Berry Farm, owned by the same parent company as Six Flags, introduced a similar policy a couple of years ago due to an increased number of fights recorded during the summer months. Those who don't follow the new rules will face the consequences of being “subject to ejection." “We believe these changes will help ensure that Six Flags Magic Mountain continues to have a positive atmosphere," the park said in a statement.

They simply want "thrill-seekers" to enjoy a day of "fun" while feeling "safe." The fest is scheduled to begin on September 7 at the California park which features the "fastest coasters in the world." With 20 rollercoasters, Six Flags Magic Mountain California has the most thrill rides in the entire US, according to a study by Statista .

This is followed by Cedar Point in Ohio and Six Flags Great America in Illinois, which are tied with 16 rollercoasters. Hersheypark in Pennsylvania, Carowinds in North Carolina, Ohio's King's Island, Six Flags Over Texas, and Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey all follow with 14 coasters of their own. Touted as being the “largest, scariest, and most extreme Fright Fest ever,” the event is scheduled to run Thursdays through Sundays, until November 3.

Fans of all things frightening will enjoy interactions from horror franchises and movies such as The Saw, Army of the Dead, The Nun, Netflix's Stranger Things, Annabelle, and more.
