DOZENS of products containing mustard have been recalled due to allergy concerns. Multiple brands are pulling sauces and pastes from UK supermarkets and takeaways because they have peanuts which are not mentioned on labels - after a Food Standards Agency alert. Those impacted include products made by My Protein, Slimming World, Iceland and Waitrose.

While major pizza takeaway chain Papa John's has been forced to stop serving its Garlic and Herb Dip, and their Vegan Ranch Dressing. And Domino's has removed its BBQ Dip and The Big Dip - BBQ. NEW ITEM ADDED The latest item to be added to the alert list yesterday is Merchant Gourmet's Black Dhal with Black Lentils & Coconut Cream.



READ MORE ON ALLERGIES The FSA says: "Several brands are taking the precautionary step of recalling several spice products that contain mustard, because they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label. "This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts." SYMPTOMS of an allergy usually occur within minutes of contact with with the offending food or trigger, but they can also come on up to one hour later.

Most allergic reactions are mild but they can also be moderate or severe. Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of allergic reaction which can be life threatening. Mild to moderate symptoms include: Itchy mouth, tongue and throat Swelling of lips, around the eyes or face Red raised itchy rash (often called nettle rash, hives or urticaria) Vomiting, nause.
