AN urgent Hurricane Milton warning has been issued to Aer Lingus passengers as the US gets ready for its "impending arrival". The hurricane has severely affected holiday spots across America this week. Hurricane Milton is disrupting flights and causing evacuations in the gulf of Mexico and Florida.
And Aer Lingus have since released a statement to passengers travelling to affected areas. The Irish airline said flights to Orlando on Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10 may be disrupted. Passengers travelling on these dates can also rebook to an alternative date within the next 7 days with no extra cost.
They said: "We are aware of the impending arrival of Hurricane Milton and potential travel disruption to the Orlando MCO region on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th October. "Passengers due to travel on these days can rebook travel to an alternative date within next 7 days, subject to availability, without a change fee. "Rebooking must be in the same cabin or fare difference will apply.
" Hurricane Milton has since reached category 5, the strongest type of hurricane with winds blowing at over 156 mph. These hurricanes can cause major damage, destroying homes and buildings completely along with significant risk to life. Aer Lingus also stated that passengers affected by flight disruption can contact their customer service centre for assistance.
