Tuesday, August 20, 2024 A massive wildfire crisis has engulfed parts of southern France , forcing thousands of tourists and residents to evacuate their homes and campsites. The blaze, which ignited on Sunday, rapidly spread through the region, prompting emergency services to issue evacuation orders. Approximately 3,000 holidaymakers were forced to flee campgrounds near the coastal town of Canet-en-Roussillon.

Dozens more were displaced from their homes in Frontignan. Dramatic images have emerged of towering flames and thick smoke blanketing the area. Hundreds of firefighters have been battling the infernos, which have consumed over 400 acres of land.
