Kathryn Bigelow made history in 2010 when she became the first woman to win the Oscar for best director. Bigelow, who won the honor for her film “ The Hurt Locker ,” is now working on a new movie here in New Jersey for Netflix . And the production needs Jersey locals for various scenes.

Grant Wilfley Casting tells NJ Advance Media that there are several different types of casting needs for the as-yet-untitled film, which will be in production throughout New Jersey. The director’s other films include the classic action movie “ Point Break ” (1991) with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze and “ Zero Dark Thirty ” (2012), starring Jessica Chastain, about the hunt for Osama bin Laden, which was nominated for best picture. The film will be about “a group of White House officials scrambling to deal with an incoming missile attack on the U.S.,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

Jersey extras for a basetball game scene Bigelow’s Netflix movie is seeking New Jersey locals to to serve as background actors/people in the crowd at a basketball game scene. The filming for this scene will take place Oct. 23 and 24 in Newark.

Jersey extras to play government workers The Netflix film also need New Jersey locals to play government workers. The scenes will be filmed Oct. 17 and 18 in Mercer County, and the pay rate is $216 for eight hours of work for SAG-AFTRA members and $176 for 10 hours of work for non-SAG members.

Those participating must have a valid ID. Jersey golfer Finally, the Bigelow movie is seeking a New Jersey golfer to serve as a photo double. The scene fill be filmed Sept.
