Monday, January 6, 2025 United Airlines has announced an accelerated timeline for integrating Starlink, the world’s fastest and most reliable inflight connectivity system, into its global fleet. Testing is set to begin next month, with the first commercial flight equipped with Starlink scheduled for this spring on a United Embraer E-175 aircraft. The airline plans to upgrade its entire two-cabin regional fleet by the end of the year and introduce Starlink to its mainline aircraft before 2025 closes.
United ultimately aims to equip its entire fleet with the cutting-edge service. MileagePlus members will enjoy free access to Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet, unlocking streaming, gaming, shopping, and other entertainment options during flights. Membership in MileagePlus is free, and customers can sign up at united.
