The UK's most disappointing beaches have been revealed. Before you grab your picnic basket and dig out your deck chair, it’s worth checking out the beaches that some Brits aren't too fond of.

Using TripAdvisor reviews, Preply has identified the top 10 beaches that haven't quite impressed some visitors. The team started by compiling a list of the nation's top 20 most popular and famous beaches, before analysing the number of one, two, and three-star reviews to reveal which ones might leave you feeling underwhelmed. 10.

With its rich history, wide range of activities, and ongoing improvements, it continues to be a favourite spot for both locals and tourists seeking a quintessential British seaside experience. However, 13 percent of visitors weren’t as thrilled with their visit to this tourist hotspot.

Camber Sands Total reviews: 1,922 Disappointing reviews: 274 Percentage of disappointing reviews: 14 percent Camber Sands is a renowned beach located near the village of Camber in East Sussex.

Known for its expansive sandy dunes and scenic beauty, it is one of the most popular beach destinations in the UK. But it scored 14 percent of disappointing reviews, the bulk of which mentioned the cheeky seagulls, pinching more than their fair share of chips. Although the thieving birds have annoyed some reviewers, an overwhelming majority of them had a positive experience at Camber Sands.

The beach at Skegness is renowned for its long stretch of golden sand, ideal for sunbathing, building sandcastles, and beach games. While for the most part reviews of Skegness Beach pointed to a positive experience, some people were left feeling underwhelmed by their seaside visit. One in six TripAdvisor reviewers took to the platform to vent their feelings of disappointment with this beach experience.

The 17 percent of disappointing reviews of Formby Beach point to its lack of red squirrels. The spot, advertised as a red squirrel hotspot, reportedly has fewer of them roaming around than some visitors were expecting. Despite this minor setback, the majority of reviewers shared their pleasant time at Formby Beach, showing that it is still a great place to soak up the sunshine this summer.
