Tuesday, January 21, 2025 In January 2025, Ukraine’s largest airline, SkyUp Airlines, made a significant step toward strengthening its position in the travel market by migrating its operations to IBS Software’s iFly Res system. This transition aims to enable the airline to resume its commercial services more effectively as it moves beyond its temporary role as an ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider and reestablishes regular flights within the European Union. The partnership with IBS Software is seen as a pivotal move for SkyUp as it seeks to overcome the adversity of recent years and position itself for long-term growth in an increasingly competitive market.

SkyUp Airlines has demonstrated resilience since the onset of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Initially forced to adapt by evacuating its fleet from restricted airspace, the airline pivoted to providing charter services under ACMI contracts and focused on securing an Air Operator Certificate in Malta. These tactical decisions allowed the airline to continue operations within Europe, despite the challenging political and economic environment.

Now, as the airline prepares to resume regular flights, this new collaboration with IBS Software marks a vital milestone in its recovery, one that will significantly impact its ability to cater to a growing European market. The integration of IBS Software’s iFly Res Passenger Services System (PSS) provides SkyUp with a more streamlined and modern approach.
