A UK hotel chain is being accused of cashing in on the Oasis reunion by cancelling existing bookings and reselling the rooms for triple the price . Lily Stroud said she "took a risk " by reserving rooms at Manchester's Maldron Hotel for next July after speculation about the band's return, the BBC reported . But they were cancelled shortly after the band's announcement on Tuesday night.

But hours later he got an email from the hotel saying there was a technical error and his booking didn't exist.



"The minute I saw that email from the hotel, I opened up Booking.com and the exact same room I booked is now around £350 ($680), so there's no technical error there," he told the BBC Sacha Lord, night-time economy adviser for Greater Manchester, wrote on X on Tuesday that he had been contacted by "several people" who were told their reservations had been cancelled by Maldron Hotels after a "computer error". The chain, which has two hotels in Manchester, said all reservations made before August 26 would be honoured. "We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused," it said. The band, who were one of the leading groups during the 90s Britpop movement alongside the likes of Blur, Pulp, and Suede, will perform once again, with 14 shows set down for the next UK Summer. Mumblings of a reunion had been building for days , and on Monday night the siblings posted identical videos showing the date and time, 27th August 2024 at 8am. At that time they announced the tour plans.
