Monday, August 19, 2024 Starting in 2025, British travelers heading to Europe will need to obtain a new travel document called the European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS). This new requirement will apply to visa-exempt nationals traveling to any of 30 European countries. European Travel Information and Authorisation System is an electronic travel authorization linked to your passport, valid for up to three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

Travelers will need to apply for European Travel Information and Authorisation System in advance of their trips, as it will be required for entry into the participating countries. The European Travel Information and Authorisation System system is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2025.
