PAWCATUCK — The United Congregational Church of Westerly’s pollinator gardens have been designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Located at 9 Castle Hill Road, the gardens are also part of the Pollinator-Pathways Project in the United States, including the Stonington Pollinator Pathways. The church has cultivated its land to support pollinators, featuring diverse gardens with a labyrinth serving as the focal point, symbolizing the divine presence.

The eco-friendly gardens reduce lawn-mowing and conserve water by planting native species, eliminating invasive plants and practicing organic gardening. The ecosystem supports a network of vital species, including birds, bees, butterflies, and beetles, along with the flora that nourishes them. The church invites the public to visit for reflection and prayer in the sacred natural setting, offering a chance to engage with and learn from the beauty of creation.
