On Thursday, September 5th, 2024, the University of Aruba (UA) honored 13 students and 3 student organizations for their excellence in their theses, along with the ambassadors of UA. The intention of the night’s event was to take a moment to celebrate and honor students who have excelled in their studies. Besides this, we honored our students who have demonstrated a professional attitude and leadership in our community, helping other students and serving as role models for others and the community in general.

We will now provide a brief description of each person. We do this because we believe it’s important to explain why they deserve this award. Thanks to our sponsors SETAR and Gianni’s Group, who made this possible, and also to the entire staff and personnel who worked to create a beautiful and pleasant environment.



Student Ambassadors play a vital role in our community. They represent UA to prospective students and their families, guide campus tours and university events, and serve as mentors to their peers. They are also actively involved in research and community service projects.

SISSTEM Kevin A. Orozco Mendoza has shown exceptional growth as an independent thinker, consistently pushing the limits of his knowledge and demonstrating a strong commitment to community through his voluntary work. His maturity, perseverance, and positive attitude make him a standout candidate for recognition, embodying the true spirit of academic and community engagement.

ACADEMIC FOUNDATION YEAR (AFY) Lindsey L. Zimmerman has been an incredibly active student representative, going above and beyond to support her peers and keep the faculty well-informed about student issues. Her excellent academic performance and dedication make her a model student.

OGM Jeanelij Quant, the OGM Student Ambassador for 2023-2024, is recognized for their ambition, creativity, and energy. Their involvement in various projects, including producing documentaries and working at the Center for Lifelong Learning, showcases commitment and talent. LEY Aaron A.

Croes has made significant contributions as a class representative and lawyer, demonstrating adaptability and enthusiasm in various roles, including his participation in the Requeer 2024 competition and his work on criminal law projects. FHTMS Thaïta Schenker, unanimously chosen as the FHTMS Student Ambassador, has exemplified academic excellence and leadership. Her active involvement in events, creativity in marketing, and commitment to her peers make her a distinguished representative of FHTMS.

FEF Edward Sanchez is honored for his leadership, dedication, and positivity. As a class representative, he has been a strong advocate for his peers and an inspiring example of professionalism and resilience. SWD Jainy Maduro has been a valuable Student Ambassador for the Social Work and Development program, demonstrating outstanding academic performance, communication, and leadership skills while actively representing the program.

OIA Emylaine D. Tromp has shown exceptional dedication in managing student exchange and immigration processes, gradually developing her confidence and social skills to effectively support students and staff. LIBRARY Kenya S.

Donato is recognized for her indispensable role in the library, where her proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and willingness to learn make her an invaluable team member. Acknowledgments We also extend our gratitude to the representatives from our Sports Teams and CK1 Service Club for their vital roles in promoting student well-being and leadership development. The Student Ambassadors are the face of our University, representing our values and promoting a positive image.

They serve as mentors, guides, and role models for their peers, fostering a sense of connection and community. Their hard work and dedication contribute to the success of our university in countless ways. Congratulations to all Student Ambassadors!.
