Pune: Two men lost Rs 38 lakh in separate cases of online share trading frauds between April and Oct. The victims, including a 62-year-old resident of Baner, filed separate complaints with the Chatushrungi police on Thursday. An officer from the Chatushrungi police said a 62-year-old retired resident of Baner stated in his complaint that the crooks contacted him through a social media platform.

They offered him good returns on his investments in the stocks. "The crooks told the victim to download an app to make the investments. Believing them, the victim transferred Rs 22.



2 lakh into the different bank account numbers provided to him between June and Aug. He lost it all," the officer said. He said in another similar fraud, the cyber crooks duped a 38-year-old employee of a private company from Baner of Rs 16 lakh on the promise of giving him good returns on his investments in the shares and cryptocurrency through them.

"The victim, on April 3, transferred the said amount to the bank account numbers provided to him and lost it," he said..
