Thiruvananthapuram : Two health centres in the city have been selected for the state Kayakalp Award for the year 2023-24. The Kayakalp Award is an initiative by the state govt to promote cleanliness , waste management, and infection control in govt health institutions. The award selection committee identifies the best hospitals through district-level and state-level inspections.

“Our corporation received recognition in the urban primary health centres category. The award is given by dividing urban primary health centre categories into three clusters. In the first cluster, the Muttada urban primary health centre secured the first position.



Additionally, the Thrikkanapuram and Vattiyoorkavu urban primary health centres received commendation awards. This recognition will energize us to provide better healthcare facilities. The corporation has decided to ensure excellent services and amenities in all hospitals in our city,” mayor Arya Rajendran said in a statement.
