Think you know the most picturesque views in Connecticut? A survey by Mixbook polled 3,000 Americans to find the 100 most photo-worthy locations in the country. A pair of Nutmeg state views made the list. The first, ranking at 75th overall, was Gillette Castle from Castle Ground in East Haddam.

The grounds offer a picturesque view of the entire structure, according to Mixbook, with the Connecticut river visible in the background. Another viewpoint on the lawn gives visitors a great spot to capture the castle and river below. Sleeping Giant State Park’s view from the Tower Trail was next at 83rd.



Located in Hamden, the view gives “a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape, including Long Island Sound on a clear day,” according to Mixbook; not to mention the expansive vistas of Connecticut’s countryside. If you are looking for the top view in the U.S.

, you will have to travel quite a distance. The Denali From Wonder Lake, Alaska snagged the top spot in Mixbook’s survey. Mixbook recommends positioning yourself along the lake’s shore where, on clear days, the mountains reflect in the lake’s water.
