Monday, August 26, 2024 Based on data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Türkiye saw an influx of 28.9 million visitors in the first seven months of this year, reflecting an 8.27% rise compared to the same timeframe in 2023.

Russia topped the list of countries with the highest number of tourists visiting Türkiye, contributing 3.61 million visitors. Germany followed with 3.



5 million, and the United Kingdom with 2.43 million visitors. Iran and Bulgaria also made it into the top five, highlighting Iran’s significant role as a crucial source of tourism for Türkiye.

The surge of tourists from Iran was instrumental in bolstering Türkiye’s overall tourism performance. Despite a substantial 30.6% decline in tourists from Western Asia, the strong numbers from Iran helped mitigate the regional downturn.

During this period, Istanbul remained Türkiye’s most popular destination, attracting 8.5 million tourists in the first half of 2024. The city’s ongoing appeal continues to play a significant role in the country’s tourism growth, benefiting from a diverse range of international visitors, including a strong presence from Iran.
