Turkish Airlines Targets New Horizons in New Zealand and Expands Global Reach Turkish Airlines is gearing up to include New Zealand in its flight network, building on its remarkable success in the Australian market. Having launched direct flights from Melbourne and Sydney to Istanbul last year, the airline has now confirmed that Auckland is a key destination in its future expansion plans.

Passengers traveling on the Istanbul-Melbourne route already enjoy a seamless stopover at Singapore’s Changi Airport. Business class travelers and top-tier frequent flyers, including Star Alliance Gold members such as Air New Zealand Airpoints Gold and Elite cardholders, can relax at the premium airport lounge before reboarding the same aircraft to complete their journey. A similar experience is expected for the Auckland route.



In addition to its New Zealand ambitions, Turkish Airlines is planning to expand its U.S. network with a new long-haul service to Minneapolis, expected to commence in April or May.

This will add to the airline’s impressive presence in the United States, where it already serves 13 cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Washington D.C., Houston, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, San Francisco, Newark, Dallas, Seattle, and Detroit.
