Friday, December 27, 2024 Marrakech is renowned for its vibrant hospitality sector, which continues to generate employment and drive the city’s economy. However, the arts industry faces challenges in attracting and retaining talent, highlighting a critical gap in cultural preservation and creative empowerment. Addressing this need, TUI Colourful Cultures Morocco has launched an initiative designed to safeguard Morocco’s rich cultural heritage while fostering opportunities for emerging artists.
In collaboration with the Ali Zaoua Foundation, this initiative has been rolled out across several Moroccan cities, including Marrakech. The programme uniquely combines traditional Moroccan art forms—such as classical music, Arabic calligraphy, and folk dance—with contemporary disciplines like street art and modern dance. Delivered through partnerships with seven local organisations, the programme engages young talents in eight diverse artistic disciplines, offering them an innovative platform to explore and evolve Moroccan arts.
Participants delve into dance, vocal performance, and street theatre, seamlessly blending cultural heritage with modern creative expression. One of the initiative’s standout features is its scholarship programme, which supports the most promising participants. Twenty selected students will receive funding and mentorship to transform their artistic aspirations into sustainable careers.
