The team behind a new venue in Perth’s south want punters to drop in and enjoy bowls of olives and a spritz. Tucci, a Mediterranean-style restaurant nestled in the Goolugatup Heathcote Reserve, is the new offering at the iconic former Bluewater Bistro in Applecross. It’s the latest opening helmed by hospitality giant Fraser’s Restaurant Group, which also runs Fraser’s Restaurant and The Botanical Cafe in King Park, as well an offsite catering business.

Tucci also adds to the group’s national collection under the Red Rock Venues brand. Operations manager William Roser said Tucci, which opened this month, distinguished itself from the group’s other venues with its relaxed, family orientated energy. “We’re a bit more casual, we’re a bit more family,” he said.



“We still have a bit of corporate, we still have a bit of weddings, but we really want to be that place for the neighbourhood. “I want people to be here at four o’clock in the afternoon, having a spritz, watching the river. We want you to pop in at four o’clock for a bowl of olives.

” Mr Roser, who oversees Fraser’s Group service standards, HR and maintenance, said the venue was given four months to close by the council for roof restoration last year. The group took the time and then some to curate a new venue, with Bluewater’s last day of service on Christmas Day last year.
